Travel Manager

One of the customer focus items “Bulk Invoicing” has now gone into testing. This functionality allows you to group invoices together into statements and get paid one value for all of the invoices on that statement.

This functionality will be available from within the financial section of the customer records and will be launched within the next week.

We have also launched the quick tour of TravelManager on the main site to show some off some of the visual designs of the platform. As always, if you have any feedback – let us know.

We have launched a number of customer focus items this morning.

  • 4 New website templates are now available (Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter)
  • Ability to monitor the penalty points on your drivers licenses
  • Ability to see the calendar as a weekly view as well as monthly and daily
  • Ability to copy a weeks roster into another week thereby saving manual editing
  • New report to show revenue and costs associated with garage work only
  • Ability to move widgets around on the dashboard so you can customise your dashboard page to suit you
  • Ability to search on meeting minutes

We have now rolled out 11 of the 47 ideas that customers have requested in the first 21 days of January.
We will now be working our way through the remainder of the customer ideas – so keep them coming as we would hate to run out of ideas and have nothing to do icon smile Customer Focus Update on your ideas

We pride our selves on being a transparent business. So here are some statistics from the Travel Manager platform.

In the last 3 months of 2007 we have had :-

  • 1894 customer accounts created
  • 264 employees detailed entered
  • 165 vehicles entered
  • 61 MOT’s / services scheduled
  • 735 private hire quotes generated
  • 1019 defect sheets created
  • 263 bus services activated
  • 107 tours created
  • 819 updates (change of quote details, customer details etc.) on the above within this period.

If each of these pieces of work simply save 3 minutes of time (in looking up details, making changes, making sure jobs are covered etc.) for operators then we have helped them collectively save over 730 hours of their precious time.

Personally I think 3 minutes is on the conservative side for many operators moving from paper based systems to a fully automated computerised on. Therefore, I think we can do considerably better over the next 3 months icon smile Some statistics...

We have had a number of subscribers ask us recently why we give all of our ideas away in this blog or why do we offer so much information that competitors could easily just read this and copy us or beat us to market with their vesions.

The answer is fairly straightforward really.

We believe that ideas should be freely exchange for the better of everyone (even our competitors) because it lifts the game for all concerned.

With regard to worrying about competitors beating us to deliver them. Well we simply look at history and believe that if they could do that then they already would have done it icon smile Why do we give all our ideas away?

Ideas are the easy part. Execution is everything!

Thats why we will always share our roadmap and ideas in a totally transparent way. And if our competitors start to act upon some of them – great – it will give us something to word harder on icon smile Why do we give all our ideas away?

Since launching the “Functionality Voting” tool last thursday (7 days ago) we have had 35 ideas raised and 160 votes cast.

Not bad.. but I think we can do better than that if we put our minds to it icon wink Customer Ideas Update

Get your ideas into us or get voting on the ideas that are already there and have your say as to what we develop next. Don’t be shy icon smile Customer Ideas Update

Between now and the New Year we are focusing on documentation, tutorials, online training and general FAQ’s within the application to make it easier for everyone to find the functionality currently with the system. In the New Year we will start developing functionality again.

So remember, we like being busy. In fact we thrive on it icon wink Customer Ideas Update

Keep those ideas coming in and make demands upon us as to what functionality you want to see developed in the New year – and we will endeavor to deliver it.

One of the things that differentiates us as a business is our total commitment to “listen”. Many businesses tell you they do it but we actually deliver upon it.

We took your feedback and ideas from the Coach & Bus Live 2007 show and have been working hard on how best to deliver many if not all of them.

As a small family run business, your feedback (good and bad) is the lifeblood of our organization .

If we are not delivering what you want then we have no reason to be in business.

Keep your ideas and feedback coming – we thrive on them icon smile Feedback
