- We have a number of improvements to the ChauffeurManager solution over the next couple of weeks. These include.

- SMS alerting to drivers / customers at different stages in the quotation / allocation process

- Ability for drivers to log in and see their own jobs, print off job sheets and if they are freelance – create their own bookings for themselves.

- Ability to allow customers to request for a quote online

- Ability for customers to log in and see a complete history of their bookings and print off invoices etc..

- Video tours & tutorials of the application

- plus much much more…

In the new year – we have a very ambitious roadmap ahead which will keep it and those businesses using it firmly in the driving seat online

Its been a while since we shared our roadmap so we thought we would re-post.

2008 Focus: To develop the processes and procedures that allows businesses to engage online.

Area: Sales & Marketing

Click to Call

0800 on Steroids. Customer visits website, enters their phone number and when they would like the call, clicks button to submit. When required time is reached, system initiates call between the 2 parties and starts the call.
Capture Phone Numbers and Names into TM for business to market to

eMail Campaign Tool

Ability to send marketing emails to customers / prospects and report on click throughs etc.
Video Marketing capability where a member can send video clips via email and monitor how customers engage with the content to establish if one video sells more than another video etc.

Customer Surveys

Auto send of online surveys to customers / prospective customers on satisfaction etc 7 days after they have filled in a quotation request.
Ad Hoc sending of surveys where members can send out surveys on demand.

Online Video’s

Video’s of tours / vehicles integrated with online quotation / tours widget

Micro Formatting

Enhanced Search Engine Optimization of all online content with automated micro-formatted content

Tomorrow morning at 6am (GMT) we will be performing a server upgrade. We dont expect the service to be out of action for more than 90 minutes.

Why are we upgrading?

We always want to ensure that we provide the fastest service available. Internally, we require all pages (except certain reports) to load within 2 seconds or less. This upgrade will help us get to 1 second or less in the majority of cases Obviously the speed depends on your broadband connection speeds but everything we can do at this end to help is always something we think we should do.

So from tomorrow we will be on bigger servers which can process more data faster than before and we will have a dedicated supply of bandwidth to the Internet so you can be assured of the best possible speeds from our software.

We are close to being code complete and tested on ChauffeurManager, our solution for the chauffeur market. We will be launching the solution on Monday 1st September.

If you are in the chauffeur industry and have outsourced drivers, or do a lot of airport / corporate work then get in contact and we will be able to get you up and running on a 30 day free trial starting 1st September.

We are busy working on a “Getting Started” section for TravelManager which will include a number of “How To’s” and tutorials on getting the best out of TravelManager.

We received feedback from a number of you which didnt know that certain pieces of functionality were now available – so we thought it time to add to the team and focus on training and tutorials.

So with that we would like to welcome Megan to the team. She is our newest recruit and will be focusing on the tutorials and training guides for the next couple of months.

If there are specific “How To” guides that you would like to see then please dont hesitate to contact us.

Further to my post yesterday. The bulk edit facility will also alert you as to which jobs do not have drivers or vehicles assigned (See the screenshot below)

You can also filter in ascending / descending order on any of the columns and you can move the columns around to fit in with how you want the information to be presented. So for example if you want the information shown with the drivers name first and you want to group all of the drivers work together you can do just that with 2 mouse clicks. (See screenshot below)

Likewise if you want to order by Job (so you group all services together and private hires together) you can (see screenshot below)

After improvements to our main site (www.travel-manager.co.uk) last month, we have started to look at improving the design and navigation of the application itself. We are currently prototyping the menu bar and dashboard section of TravelManager and here is a sneak preview of what it will look like in the next version.

This new design is a stepping stone to a more featured and customisable interface where you can move items around the dashboard and / or remove / add new widgets as and when you wish. This design is due to be implemented in January and the customisable version sometime in February.

The financial module as described yesterday has now been rolled out to live, so you should start to see your graphs take shape

We have been working on the financial module, which will enable you to monitor your revenue and costs and keep an eye on cashflow etc.. You will also be able to see which at a glance where you money is going and how much you are spending on specific areas of the business.

Here is a sneak preview of the types of reports we are building (click on the image to zoom in).

You will be able to see revenue from private hire, tours, garage work and costs associated with wages and vehicle maintenance.

You will be able to see a running profit / loss number as well as cashflow analysis with 2 clicks of the mouse (we couldn’t get it to 1 click as you need to choose the financial period that you are interested in but we couldn’t have made it easier to use)
