Where are you?

Today, Ray Ozzie (the guy who has taken Bill Gates job at Microsoft – now that the worlds richest man has retired) stated that:-

“The web has become a key demand generation mechanism”. A company’s web presence has become criticical to a company’s overall business”.

So true, yet so many businesses fail to understand this.  Whenever (and I mean every time) I want to purchase a product or service I turn to the Internet for research. If I’m going to book anything (a hotel, a holiday, a coach) – I always look online to see (a) if their website is any good and (b) what others are saying about them.

Why do I care if they have a decent website? Because if they don’t look after what is their most visible storefront (a billion people have the opportunity to pass that storefront every day) then what are they doing with the little things like service or cleanliness etc..

Why do I care about what others say – even if I don’t know them? Because I have to take someones view into account and the businesses view of their products / services is invariably biased icon smile Microsoft say the Internet is the future too....   So I try and get an independent view at all times.

People buy from people, but a good quality website at least gets the conversation going icon smile Microsoft say the Internet is the future too....

“Forrester Research recently shared some interesting data from its studies on e-commerce and internet sales. The company projects online sales will top $200 billion during 2008. This would mean a 17 per cent increase for online sales. Last year, online sales grew at a 21 per cent clip. The U.S. Census Bureau also said online sales grew 9.5 per cent in the second quarter. Despite some modest slowing in online sales growth, attributed somewhat to economic issues and the overall sales drops for high end fashion and apparel retailers, internet sales continue to increase faster than brick-and-mortar stores. This signals what many analysts see – movement of more business activity to the web.”

Are you taking advantage of online sales?  If your not, your competitors will be.

Online does NOT mean a website – it means everything behind that website also. From a process to accept quotes online, all the way through to a process which allows you to respond in a timely manner to that quote and keep the customer informed all the way through to the job being completed. It still doesnt stop there!  You then need to communicate with the customer and get feedback on your service to see if there was anything you could have done better!

TravelManager provides ALL of this functionality!  Talk to us to find out more.

Remember – We now have offices in the UK, Ireland and the USA.
