Travel Manager

We believe you should be able to get your products and services out to the widest audience possible. Thats why TravelManager has launched the first of many niche websites servicing the local community. Bus Charter New York ( http://www.buscharter-new-york.com/ ) provides the richest set of information on bus and motor coach operators in the New York area.

Searching for a reputable motor coach company becomes childs play:

Rich multimedia results mean the best companies can really shine and the customer can appreciate what makes that company stand out from the crowd. Motorcoach operators can upload photographs, videos and detailed information about their business.

We think this and the other members of the Bus Charter America Network will prove a hit with customers and provide operators with a valuable resource in which to display their wares.

We at TravelManager believe in open systems. Its your data after all.

So we have been working hard on a set of API’s which will allow you to access your data and integrate with your own systems.  Next week we will be published the APIs on the website so anyone can extend their own software based on TravelManager functionality.

We have now implemented vehicle based routing functionality into the online charter quoting functionality.

What does this mean?

If you have multiple office locations and a customer requests a specific type of vehicle via the online quotations tool then that quote request is automatically routed to the nearest office with that vehicle type. This saves on additional work for people who are unable to deal with the request and also makes it quicker to respond to the customer. In this economic environment “speed is a featureicon smile Vehicle Based routing

picture 3 DevDays 2009 iPhone Developer Workshop

The TravelManager team in Ireland attended “DevDays 2009″ to meet with other iPhone developers as well as Apple Engineers. It was a great opportunity to meet with fellow iPhone developers and we’ve even got a few people interested in developing on the TravelManager API’s!!

Everyone really liked the look of our iPhone App so we thought we’d share it a few pics with you:

One developer in particular has created an iPhone App for Dublin Bus timetables so that was really interesting for us to meet someone providing solutions for the same industry. More on that in the next few weeks as we start to finalize on iPhone apps (yes we’re going to have more than 1 App).
The conference highlighted the need to have a few Apps in the iTunes store and also for focus on multilingual offerings as most iPhone users really like to work in the native language (so lucky TravelManager can be language independent them icon wink DevDays 2009 iPhone Developer Workshop )

**We’re thinking about attending WWDC in June as the DevDays 2009 event really highlighted just how huge the iPhone is going to be after the next update in June. Any iPhone developers interested in developing iPhone Apps for TravelManager should  join us in attending WWDC before the end of  April.
(If the interest is high, in even just attending the event in June it makes sense to go as a group??)

I suspect this event is going to be a huge one that could the trip of a lifetime icon smile DevDays 2009 iPhone Developer Workshop

TravelManager attended the latest Global Passenger Network conference at the end of March and we also presented in Tel Aviv. The event was hosting by Maya Tours the GPN member for Israel and despite my delays out of Terminal 5 in Heathrow I made it to the meeting (only just).
The technology presentation included all the latest news about TravelManager and more importantly how this was going to help GPN not only get more business via the Internet but also provide a tool to market the group more effectively.

All the members are 100% committed to the GPN technology effort and they’ve been providing the translation of the quotation widget for us.

**Even the new Russian member that joined less than 2 weeks ago has already provided the Russian translation!
