When presenting at industry conventions I have great conversations with Sales & Marketing managers looking to use services like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube to promote their businesses.
They’re seeing a decreasing ROI on their traditional marketing media such as mailing Catalogues, Print Media and Television, which inevitably leads to questions like:
1) How can we market ourselves more effectively with these new tools (Social Networks, Micro blogs etc)?
2) How can we generate more sales?
The reality is they should be asking:
1) How can we get our customers and prospective customers to talk and tell others about us?
2) How can we be more responsive to our customers needs into the future?
Over the coming months I’ve decided the best way forward is to create a real-time case study with weekly updates posted on the TravelManager Blog. The company we’ve decided to use is Irish Coaches, watch out for my post next week.

The TravelManager iPhone application (the worlds first iPhone application for the motorcoach industry) has now been submitted to Apple’s App Store so you will be able to download and get updates as and when they come on stream as soon as its available. Apple has a turn around time of between 4 and 8 weeks for new applications.
We will keep you informed on progress.

Not content with having the worlds first iPhone application for the motorcoach industry, TravelManager now launched the worlds first open API for motorcoach software.
We have now officially launched the TravelManager API and all the information can be found at:

We now have a number of partners looking at them with a view to integrating them into their software solutions shortly.

So we have been working hard on a set of API’s which will allow you to access your data and integrate with your own systems. Next week we will be published the APIs on the website so anyone can extend their own software based on TravelManager functionality.

We have now implemented vehicle based routing functionality into the online charter quoting functionality.
What does this mean?
If you have multiple office locations and a customer requests a specific type of vehicle via the online quotations tool then that quote request is automatically routed to the nearest office with that vehicle type. This saves on additional work for people who are unable to deal with the request and also makes it quicker to respond to the customer. In this economic environment “speed is a feature”

We have now moved the GoTravelManager.com website over to wordpress and will be adding more features over the coming weeks and months.
