Route Optimisation Improvements
We have listened to your feedback and have made some significant improvements to the way the route optimisation works and have rolled these out to live this morning.
The route optimisation module allows you to enter in a number of co-ordinates / way points and it will establish the most appropriate route to take to minimse mileage and lower your fuel costs.
You enter in your waypoints (in any order you want) as postcode locations and it will calculate the best route for you. It takes less than 2 seconds for a 30 postcode calculation and less than 6 seconds for a 100 postcode calculation so is extremely fast!
It will then show you the order and the mileages between the 2 consecutive locations and a total mileage for the entire route.
It will also show you the route on the map.
and provide directions between each of the waypoints on the route. You can print these directions out and hand to the driver.
It will also calculate the fuel costs associated with this route, so you can work out quite quickly what you should be charging for the route.
